Archery and Swimming

It's been awhile since our last post, we apologize for the delay...we have been busy working. Two weeks ago Coach Wagenknecht's classes were in the small gym participating in archery!!! This was the first year we have done archery and Sperreng and I think we can all agree it went awesomely!!!!! We learned safety while shooting then played some accuracy games and it all culminated with some zombie target practice. We have quite a few kids that I would want on my zombie apocalypse team. See some pictures below.

Last week, we played NitroBall, or inverted volleyball. Due to the snow day we only got 3 days in. It was fun but we could have used another day or two.

This week, as you know, we are swimming. Our theme for this go around is Survivor. The kids have been divided up into Tribes (Tae-Bo, Ping-Pong, etc) and they are tasked with working together to master swimming skills. You can see a picture of the skills they have to master below. If a student doesn't know the skill, they need to research it or ask another group to get the answer. Each day I demonstrate 1-2 skills that are more advanced and then they work on them in the shallow end of the pool. By the end of the unit, every student should know basic to intermediate swimming skills and what to do in certain dangerous situations.

Let me know if you need anything or have any questions and...
